Here's how it started out, found it sitting in the weeds at the back of our used car lot. The engine ran just good enough to get it home 3 miles away. It wasn't going to go much farther. :)

I liked the sleeper look, the roll cage gives it away now. :(

A d16z6 looks kind of odd with DPFI, doesn't it. It passed e-check that way though. The vice grips were the only thing holding the OBD0 distributor to the engine during the test. =) The bolt holes didn't line up.
Posted Image

Using a perfectly good standard harness and a couple chopped up harnesses from work, here's my version of a OBD0 to OBD1/DPFI to MPFI/VTEC conversion harness. (still need to recover it)

These little bastards are quite roomy when you get some of the extra crap out of them. ;)

Picked up a 90 Si tranny to replace the 4-speed standard trans. Of special interest on tear down to inspect it was this: Posted Image
I've seen alot of really bad input bearings over the years, but never one with a cracked race. Easy enough to fix and add an OBX lsd and we should be able to really tear up some tires!!! =)

Here's an old one: shows how I had to notch the block for the eagle rods to clear.

The gauges before the rollcage.

Trying out the trailer, getting ready for the first runs on slicks. Ready to start breaking shit. :)
Posted Image

First night on slicks, booted from the track. These runs were spinning the 22x9.5 slicks all the way through 3rd gear. (the track was slippery like usual)
Posted Image

a couple of the slower runs:

Decided to make a fresh air intake for it. Had some 4" dryer duct in the garage so I used it. :) Wrapped the elbow up with duct tape to help keep it from blowing apart at 130+mph.

Jegs 10point cage.

Also had to relocate the gauges, the a-pillar pods don't fit anymore. Used a piece of 16 gauge aluminum.

nice setup... are you going to bump up the boost, or rev it out more? that turbo and engine are still making power.

The dyno was done with the 60trim, the guy wasn't comfortable revving it past 8200 on the stock valve retainers. It has Ti retainers now and the rev limit is set at 8600, and it spends a lot of time there. :) Traded the 60trim for a 50 trim, the 11.4@131 run was on the 50. I think the boost can be upped a few psi, but I want to get what it has now to hook up.

Here's some updates: Breaking stuff on the m+h 24.5x8.5 slicks. =(

3/24/07 Busted the flange off the turbo manifold.
Posted Image

Rewelded it, braced the turbo better and ditched the exhaust. Open dp isnt too bad on the street, always coasted by cops with the 3" exhaust anyways. =)
Posted Image

3/30/07 Busted both axles and the clutch. It was coasting from about half track and still ran quicker than most of the cars there.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

4/28/07 Yay, I didn't bust anything. =) Boo, the first half of the track was slippery, then it started raining. =(

Robin, for your setup, thats quite consistant for a slippery track!!!!!

If I was you, I'd attend a UMTR event @ Edgewater with a prepped track!

Thats if your trust your axles!
