Moved here from ALTHonda -

OK guys, I saw a thread started on H-T by a fellow d series enthusiast and thought that we could probably help out. Here is a copy of his post, add where you can. I think it will be a good addition to our archives here too.

"Please help out and post up the code on your D Series Cylinder Head, its located above the exhaust ports of Cyl #2 and #3 or near that location, see pic below. You have to post/know the Year,Model,Engine and Transmission along with the code.I have a few so far.....The Idea of this page is to help people ID thier head when they buy one from ebay, junkyard or anybody so they know they got the right head.

Here's the golden question I'm wondering... What's the differance between the head on my '00 DX coupe (auto tranny) that's in the pic in my post above, and this head: 97 LX D16Y7 Auto------P2F-HA-4 Mine is an HA-7 Is there really no differance, or is there a differance? And why would the head on the SAME motor with the same power and all other spec rating numbers, be different? Is mine "better" perhaps? :-k :?

Thanks for all the replys and information guys - it will be nice resource material.

SilverY2KCivic:

My thought on the question about differences in numbers on heads:
I believe that the major differences in the heads will be denoted by the first part of the code - P2F in this case. I think that the latter add-ons have to do with production place/date/etc rather than head configuration.

HumanResource,

first off, welcome to the site.

thanks very much for the info on the JDM headcodes, we really need this information.

Any other info that you are able to source form the JDM engines please share. also note there is a topic regarding engine codes in "global sohc & d-series" we could certainly do with that adding too, if you kanow any info.
